Thanks mp70 for sharing the information. Your experience has helped me with two worries. My 797 was approved in June end and I am going for stamping at Chennai at the end of July. You put my worries with the short gap PIMS verification issues to an end.
It is good to know that there is a separate counter for revalidation. Did the officer ask any information for dependents H4 visa?
Also, did you do anything to check whether your petition was present in the PIMS database?

If the incumbents really care about being re-elected, they really need to do something over the next 30-40 days. All major news channels are already touting the current congress as a "do-nothing congress". And probably not only their re-election is at stake, if we look at a bigger picture, for some of them even their political career might be stalled!
Ofcourse, there is no gurantee that some kind of immigration bill will pass, but we should not lose hope at this point.

I'm having a problem with a Nikon d100 camera taking the necessary pictures for a high dynamic range photo. I need to take 3 pictures in a short ammount of time (which I can do, using the bracket setting) but I need to vary the shutter speed manually in this setting, with a different exposure time for each of the 3 pictures taken in the bracket. Is there any way that I can do this, or any software that will allow me to accomplish this?

As far as I know, this is exactly how the automatic bracketing mode works. Or at least, on the Canon cameras, that's what it does. Just set that the camera takes a +2, 0 and -2 exposure (I'd suggest using two stops, as you want to make a noticable difference between the shots, otherwise the "extension" of the range will be more or less useless).
However, I'm not entirely sure whether the camera will adjust the shutter speed or aperture, or both. It may well depend on which mode you set the camera to in the first place (Program mode -> change both, Shutter Priority -> change aperture [you set the time, so the camera changes the aperture to match], Apterure Priorty -> Change shutter speed [you set the aperture, the camera adjusts the time to match]).
Alternatively, if you use manual mode (and of course, no automatic bracketing available in manual mode), and set it to the "two stops shorter" time, you should be able to relatively quickly do "two clicks" on the dial that adjusts the time. Then do two clicks more. [of course, two stops is probably more than two clicks, but you get the idea].

Today i and my spouse received RFE for 485 (email) . The reasons are yet to know.

If you have approved labor and 140, why you want to file EB2 perm?
1. Are you jumping to another company? Yes you can do this as you are not substituting any labor. You are just porting YOUR PD.
2. Are you thinking to apply ther PERM from the same company? It is possible only if you jump to different department. Yes, you can still port the PD.
Substitution is the terminology used only when the beneficiary name changes. As long as the original labor is in your name, you can port the PD n number of times.
I was reading through a thread here where someone said that since LC substition will be banned soon and 140 will have to be applied within 45 days of labor approval else LC becomes invalid, so it would not be possible to transfer the priority date of a old LC which has I140 approved to a new LC that could be filed in another category since it would be more than 45 days since the old LC was approved. Is this true, if yes, this is the final blow to those apirants in Eb3 aspiring to transfer PD by reapplying in Perm Eb2 and transferring PD based on approved I140. Please respond with comments. Thanks.

i e-filed my ead on the last week of june. sent documents during the first week of july. July 17th, went for FP. Got the approval two days back

Sorry for taking this discussion into different side..instead of opening a new thread i felt my question is related somewhat to this...
I am planning to change to new employer in february 2009 and used AP on Nov 2008. I am planning to ask new employer for H1B transfer instead of EAD as my H1B is valid till Sep,2010. Will this be a problem as i already used AP..some where i read that, i may jeopardize my 485 application, if i do H1 transfer in this case, as i used my AP....
I will talk to lawyer soon on this and let u know but any insight is helpful from you all..

The change of status would have been effective in october. You do not need to inform USCIS until september. As a matter for your benefit, avoid it telling to USCIS until september. Check with previous company's lawyer if they applied change in status. The attorney will tell you that. I-94 that comes with H1 status change, and is your property and you can demand that from the company. If they do not cooperate, inform USCIS anyway.

Hi All,
Now there are 3 possibilities for "alien receipt number" that is supposed
to be written behind my photos to be included with I-485:
-1- the filed i-140 receipt number
-2- a number that appears in i-140 approved letter
-3- the A# from my F1-OPT-EAD (this is called "alien registration number for sure")
Any more clarifications on which one of the above three is actually "alien receipt number"?

I received my Receipts now for I-485.Is there any process to expedite AP while filing .(based on family death). I'm applying for it now.
You can always take an Infopass appointment. I'm not sure if IO really has authority to generate an interim AP. In my case I took Infopass once for address change as it did not happen even after applying online twice.
