Pehaps all that your lawyer cares for is your fees. The answer to your question is 'No' you cannot use your experience gained with your current employers, ofcourse if the petitioner is your current employer.

They are just mistaking his EAD card for PR card. My EAD was approved on April 27 and the status says
"Card production ordered/Oath Document sent".
It is just misleadig for a lot of people they can misread it as the PR card.

Hi All,
I have got fingerprint notice and appointment is after 3 weeks in Charlotte NC. I will not be available on that day and do not want to postpone the appointment.
I would like to prepone the appointment and I tried to find Charlotte USCIS local phone number but could not find anywhere. The only number is general 800 number and that was of no use.
Does anyone have any experience with Charlotte office? Can I just go there and will they do fingerprint any day before actual appointment? Charlotte is around 4 hours drive. It will be painful to drive there and find that they don't do fingerprint before appointment day. What day is normally good if I want to take the chance? Have anyone actually called them and prepone the appointment? What is the local office phone number?
These are two many questions. But all are related. Sorry for being so long and thanks in advance for your response...

I think, based on various experiences mentioned here, opening a SR, taking local immigration office appointments, etc is a way to get USCIS to look at your file.
I also read, if there was a pending EAD renewal, your case might get looked at and instead of renewing your EAD, USCIS will rather give you GC - provided PD is current and there are no other issues.
I know none of these 2 things have a documented backing...apart from people's experiences (which, I value a lot - don't get me wrong there).
My EAD was also up for renewal - filed in June. Got the "card production ordered" e-mail @ that yesterday. And, no change on the AOS case.
So, should I take other steps @ my AOS case - like, opening a SR, taking IO appointment, etc ?

She should enter in the US on H4, for which you will need to keep your H1 valid at least until the time of her entry.
Correction: He has to maintain the H1 even after his wife enters the USA in H4 status. If he looses H1B status by any means, his wife's H4 is invalid and she will be out of status. So, he has to maintain H1B status until his wife files AOS/485.

Is filing for 485 to get EAD etc really fraud? I mean it is their JOB to weed out the priority dates that are not current :). Besides if anyone is at fault it is the immigration lawyers.

I have recently spent 2 weeks in Chennai and my overall taxi experience has been very good being non Tamil speaking. All Taxis charge more when the starting point is Airport. That is inevitable. If it is just to drop them at the nearest hotel, ask them to approach the Govt Prepaid Taxi booth.
Govt's is cheaper compared to the private Taxis. Ofcourse the Govt only has Ambassadors as the Taxis. Do not expect the Taxis to be neat and clean like here. Expect broken handles.....There are 3 other private Taxi booths, of the private taxis Fasttrack seemed a little lesser compared to others, almost all private taxi rates are closer.
If they need the Taxi from hotel check out Fasttrack website and get teh phone no for Chennai. They have been pretty good an picking me on time, but make sure you reserve it well in advance (4-5 hrs). Whenever I called in the last minute, they were not on time.
I did stay at a hotel far from Airport - clsoer to work. So might not be useful to u.

They quote you a rate at the taxi counter and when you go to board the car, they will add on other charges saying that there is a lot of luggage. Anything more than two large suitcases, they charge at least 150 to 200. You have to haggle with them to not pay. Even the people at the counters side with the Taxi drivers.
Of late, I am having a call taxi service come to the airport to pick me up. You can talk to the hotel people to arrange for the taxi. it comes close to the actual fare quoted initially, but you wont have to pay those exhorbitant charges for luggage.

We are chasing behind so many stuffs at this important time. We should forget about the merits or demerits of point system. It can be good or bad. We should forget about how Z visa holders get more benefit than us. It is something not in our control and big politics behind everything in the bill. Therefore, we should not concentrate on this as it is not our objective. We should focus only to eliminate retro in EB ASAP. I got my EAD through my primary Employer. I am currently working on EAD but with a different Employer (NY State Agency) who doesn�t encourage GC processing, so did not file my AC21 and been working for over a year now. I still have good rapport with my primary Employer. Now I am scheduled to go to INDIA for few weeks, my question is " whom should I say is my Employer " if the immigration officer asks me at the port of entry (JFK). Please advise as I will be carrying my current pay stubs.

I recently came back on AP through Atlanta. I have changed the employers and have not applied for AC21. In secondary inspections, I was asked about where I work and who sponsored it? I did tell the sponsor as my old employer and for where I work gave current employer's name. It should not be problem entering thru AP. Another person with AP was not even asked any questions and they just stamped it and gave it back.
Also the they were discussing about the combined card for EAD and AP, when they would implement it so that they do not have to stamp and enter the information at several places for AP.
This guy was even strange that, when I gave him two copies of AP, he gave one back and said he needs only one. He just took a copy of it after entering and stamping it.
Strange are the ways they behave. When I entered thru Chicago using AP last year, the officer was praising me for giving him two copies and did not even send me for secondary inspection, as everyone before was only giving him one copy and they were searching their bags for the second copy????

A question on consular processing vs I-485. She already has a tourist visa. Also since she is deriving her green card status from mine, her priority date is current. Could she come to US on her tourist visa and we file for I-485 here instead of doing consular processing?

I don't think that it works that way. I believe she needed to be in US already on a visa that is not short term - perhaps H4 or F1 or something. I am not too sure though. You should consult with a lawyer prior to taking any action on this one

This is NOT labor substitution - but another proposed rule that would invalidate any labor certs taht were not followed up with a I-140 within 45 days.
Can we also port the PD if second I-140 is already approved, and file I-485 while using old PD?

Please consult a lawyer - She is now AOS and should not go back to H4 as that can mean she is abandoning her AOS which I am sure you dont want. I would not even recommend getting H4 stamped in her passport. ( same reason). I am in the same boat and my wife is using EAD - My lawyer did not process her H4 extension and only processed my H1 extension.
